Samira Kadiri is not only a glamorous Moroccan and Arab Soprano; she is, most importantly, a devoted artistic ambassador across the different cultures of the Mediterranean Basin.
Raised in a purely Sufi atmosphere, the soprano Samira Kadiri was brought up in accordance with spiritual and moral principles. Thus, her memory is full of Sufi traditions which noticeably affects her musical and lyrical Repertoire.
The exquisite soprano Kadiri is an operatic voice that guides those who seek beauty in both words and music. She has developed her own style of performing the Medieval repertoire of the Mediterranean Basin. She borrows lyrical and operatic techniques such as Flamenco, Fado and Jazz, without ignoring the oriental musical rhythms and traditions. It is a process of fusion which can make you travel both in time and space across the different shores of the Mediterranean.
Thanks to her academic efforts to approach the Mediterranean musical and lyrical repertoire along with her distinguished performance, Samira Kadiri received many Arab and international prizes, some of which are “AlFarabi Prize for Traditional Music’’, and the “The Golden Medal of Merit’’, and “The Golden Badge”(Seau de Marguerite de Bourgogne) by The French Prefecture of Bourgogne.
The sensational soprano also won the ‘’Artist of the Year 2013 Award’’ by The National Radio and Television Companyand was named “Creative Woman of 2007’’ by the European Union for the Support of Creative Women, Spain for her efforts as a scholar and as an artist.
